Jackie's Journey "What's Your Favorite Title, Mom?"

Moms are teachers, dreamers, hopers, cheerleaders, prayer warriors, believers, coaches, leaders, finders, seekers, growers, bakers, movers, shakers, followers, visionaries, keepers, encouragers, helpers, speakers, learners, storytellers, excellent spellers, soft-spoken comforters, disciplinarians…and a multitude of other titles!

Our calling is sure, our responsibility undaunting

and our determination to succeed unprecedented.

 We never give up!

This little girl…Catherine, is happily married and carrying my first great-grandson!

My favorite titles: Mother of Christina, Grand-mother of Catherine and now, Great-grandmother!

We have  been blessed beyond measure and we persevere in that truth.

In spite of all the trouble and turmoil in our world today, each May we take time to thank the Lord for a bright spot in our world…our moms!  My mother is with the Lord, but she left an indelible mark behind. I stand on the shoulders of her loving sacrifices…

God could not be in every place

With loving hands to help erase

The teardrops from each baby’s face…

And so, HE thought of mother.

HE could not send us here alone

And leave us to a fate unknown

Without providing for HIS own

The outstretched arms of mother.

God could not watch us night and day

And kneel beside our crib to pray,

Or kiss our little aches away;

And so, HE gave us mother.

And when our childhood days began

HE simply could not take command

That’s why HE placed our tiny hand

Securely into mothers.

The days of youth slipped quickly by

Life’s sun rose higher in the sky,

Full grown were we, yet ever nigh

To love us still, was mother.

And when life’s span of years shall end,

I know that God will gladly send,

To welcome home her child again,

That ever-faithful mother.

If you haven’t already…whether you are young or old…

will you let your mother know

how much you love and appreciate her?
